Michael Allmaier creates staged photographic art, combining human presence with humour, ambiguity and carefully constructed pictorial spaces. His work includes portraits, architectural encounters, beauty, fashion and editorial photography.
Working under the name MA-Photography, he explores how people inhabit, transform and challenge the spaces around them.
Photographic worlds
In Framed Portraits, the picture frame becomes a stage: people reach beyond it, cross boundaries and encounter one another across separate images.
Human Scale brings the human figure into dialogue with concrete, stone, colonnades and stairways. Repetition, perspective, light and shadow reveal the tension between monumental architecture and individual presence.
International recognition
Michael Allmaier’s photographs have been internationally published, including on 1x. His work has received recognition from the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA), Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA), PX3 Paris and One Eyeland, including Bronze awards and honourable mentions.

Michael Allmaier holds the European Photographer (EP) qualification awarded by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP), recognising photographic competence and a professional standard.
